Well, except for tearing out the Bs in the corner, as the boy this was originally for is now big and our cousin just found out she's having a boy! But in general quilted and bound. Used thread to match the top, so the back looks fun. Real non cellphone camera photos coming once I get them off the camera!
I make things -- books, knitted items, crocheted angels, and anything else I can find to make. Here I will write about my adventures in creating.

Free Motion Quilting
It's remarkably easy! Trying out the quilting foot on my new-to-me Bernina. The unmarked spiral was only a bit hard to see, so drew feathers and a star; only glitch was that I didn't lower the feed dogs and so took larger stitches on one leg of the star.
I'd been avoiding it, hearing everyone talk about how hard it is, and especially as I am no good at embroidery, but it's really not hard at all!
Now just to baste the windy days quilt and get started!

Windy Days Done!
The corners are from the same yellow as the back; not sure about binding yet, but may just turn the back forward...might make an interesting effect with the matching corners? But quilting comes first - haven't decided about that yet either (style or color)!

No corners
I have finished all the pieces for the windy days quilt...almost. Do you see something missing? Yup, I ran out of the navy background fabric. I have enough two-inch scraps that I could probably make some pieced corners...and would certainly have had enough fabric if not for the large amount of trimming in the smaller pinwheels (my fault for not doing the math myself). Well, I have a bright yellow for the backing, so I can either cut four squares from that or add material from the large green pinwheels (the only addition I had to make to the charm pack I won). Stay tuned for future developments!

Bias?
The instructions suggest this method, which I've seen before - intriguing and easy, but I'm a bit wary of the bias edges coming my way!
Windy days
Finally getting started on my windy days quilt! Decided a little boy needs a dark background on his quilt rather than white, so have just cut navy squares - pinwheels coming up!
